They do NOT need account access, only uploading of the applicable portion of your statement when you need to verify ownership.

In fact that is our situation.  We have an account that only holds CCL and RCL, 100 shares each, just for the shareholder benefits.  It is much easier to do the document submission, no black out needed for other holdings.  The account does have just over $1K cash, for occasional pocket money withdrawal purposes when traveling aboard.  Since withdrawal via ACH can only be done thru verified linked external banks, there is no risk for loss on the cash balance.

We are in total agreement...I was simply pointing out the inconsistencies of Stockperks *saying* that they need the access vs what is really taking place.
