Fly-Netting in Newfoundland & Greenland?

I have read a couple of posts that talk about fly-netting needed in Newfoundland.  Is this really needed?  What about Greenland?  We're cruising in August, going to Corner Brook, St Anthony & St Johns in Newfoundland and Nuuk, Nanotalik & Qaqortoq in Greenland.
