HAL Gift Card for Pre-Paid Crew Appreciation

I am trying to pre-pay my crew appreciation charges using a HAL gift card and the website doesn't want to accept the gift card when I go to try to check out.  I must be missing a step somewhere, but I can't figure out what that is.  Any help?

Gift cards can't be used for crew appreciation pre-cruise. You could take the card onboard and have it applied to your account.

I wasn’t able to use them in 2022 for prepayment of crew appreciation for the 2023 World Cruise.

I don't think gift cards have ever been able to apply to pre-cruise website purchases. You could try calling ship services (800-541-1576) and see if they can do it over the phone. You should have no trouble using it onboard though.
