We had dinner at Cagney’s. I had the lamb and my husband had the 5oz filet. Both tasted amazing. Compared to our Escape cruise in November, my love for Cagney’s is back. Rosemary French bread was crusty crust and soft inside. My lamb had a Smokey taste and was cooked to perfection paired with risotto. My husband had similar compliments for his filet mignon

we had a Penfolds cab / Shirah to pair, suggested by the  Som, and it was awesome. Not overly fruit flavored. I’d show a pic, but I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic before my plate was clean.

No dessert tonight. We were stuffed. I promise to eat cake at least once on this cruise. ❤️

By “eat cake at least once on this cruise” you really mean eat cake most days, right???😉

(This is a joke. I recently cruised on the Star and survived by eating cake in each of the ports as the food on board was so atrocious.)

Glad to see Blazing Boots still on the Jade.  We enjoyed the show.  Hope you do, too.

We missed the show…had late dinner. Maybe it will show again. Thank you for the tip. This looks like a show I’d love to see..big country music fan

It is Day 2 and a sea day. Currently we are. Sailing around the Florida keys making our way to Nassau

Daily attached. I have noticed others post the Daily so it is nicely cropped, but I can’t seem to figure that out on my iPad.Tonights show is Acrobats.  If we finish dinner in time, then we might go.
Today we will enjoy all the amenities of The Haven. I’ll post some pics of it later on.

Morning espresso ️. There is an nespresso espresso maker in our room. It makes very good espresso. There are three pods - intense (that’s my fav), decaf (which our butler says in not real coffee 😆) and medium.

There are 14 of us from my family getting on Jade when you get off. Celebrating my son’s 21st birthday(he is the youngest of the cousins!), my mom’s 89th, and my husband’s 58th! Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you for posting the daily. I like seeing the musical entertainment on the ship to keep track of my favorite musicians, duos and bands.  We love Prelude Duo.

Enjoy your sea day. Looking forward to following along.

If at all possible go to this show as it was fantastic!!  Seriously they should go on America's got talent as they were so good.  The music was meh but their talent was amazing.  The comedian wasn't funny and we didn't go to Blazing boots as we had seen them on the Gem in March and it was just okay.

Your butler is a very smart person!!! After day two, mine always figured it out and removed those fake coffee capsules. 😜

I'm enjoying your review so far, thanks. DH and I plus our oldest son and his wife are cruising on Jade in April, but from Port Canaveral for 10 days. We're in a lowly balcony, but I will be watching for any ship pictures you post and food and drink recommendations. Cake, too! 😊

We're non-smokers and wondering if smoking allowed on Jade and if so...where?

I’m not sure exactly where is the smoking section, but as a non-smoker, too, we haven’t encountered any smoking sections. Except, the cigar lounge near the wine and champagne bar, but that is an enclosed room and there is no smoke outside of that room. Casino allows smoking

Port Canaveral is an easy terminal to embark/disembark from, having sailed from that terminal (I think it’s now been 6 cruises on NCL). Balcony cabins are awesome (speaking from past experience)   This cruise we splurged on the Haven for our wedding anniversary. It has been very nice. Not sure I’ll be able to go back to a “lowly balcony cabin” 😆

Today they had a private reception for veterans and active duty military. It was really nice. They had all the officers come in and introduce themselves. It started with a crew member singing the Star Spangled Banner, and she was awesome. USA flag on the screen. I didn’t take picture out of respect for our military family’s who might need to stay incognito. 🥸. They served us cocktails. I asked one of the crew if this was new because we haven’t had this reception on other NCL cruises and he told us there many officers on board who served in the military and they wanted to have this reception for us. As I said it was a nice event.  That explains the special package my husband got when we arrived in our room.

That’s great to hear. The military packet is really neat and we like collecting the patches.  My husband and I are both military veterans.

We have also enjoyed attending these military receptions. Our first one was in March 2023 on the Gem and they were on also on Sky, Escape, Spirit x 3, and Pearl when we were on those ships last year. They started really small - about 15-20 people but on our December Pearl cruise, there were over 100 people,  Each one seemed to be a little different as some cruise directors asked for a few or for all veterans to speak.  Did they have your husband pose for a photo and tell you to pick up a copy or offer to deliver it to your cabin?

There looked to be about 100 at the reception today. And they did have him pose for a pic.  We are going to pick up a copy at the photo area tomorrow. The photo is available today, but we got busy this evening.

glad to know this is happening on the other ships. 🩷🇺🇸

Usually one "side" of the ship is reserved for smokers. As someone previously posted, there is a cigar bar that you might get some residual smoke when someone enters/leaves; but usually smoking areas are reserved for the outdoor areas on one specific side of the ship by the pool and the Promenade or lifeboat deck. So if smoking is allowed on the port side for example, it will be on the port side by the pool and Promenade deck. Believe me, you'll know it when you walk by and know to avoid it throughout the cruise. 🙂 Hope this helps.

Is there sufficient seating in the terminal at check-in? Mrs. Schmoopie fractured her leg pretty badly a few months ago and is using a cane and has a hard time standing for too long. (This may be an "interesting" cruise with her limited mobility.) Just wondering when we should try to check in when we're on the Jade next month to avoid too much standing around.

My husband uses cane and same predicament with lines.  I filled in the form to request wheel chair assistance to get onboard for Tampa sailing over this past Christmas.  Tampa was easy.  Valet parked (opens 10.30am). Lift one floor to Terminal. Special sitting area for wheelchair and handicapped.  Go onboard as soon as it opens up. The wheelchair crew take you to a tiny elevator to get to ship walkway. On board, directly to muster station to check in (have your bar code) and then leave you close to elevator to your room.    Debark, pick a time which gives a colour code. Meet special place and wait your turn. Wheelchair by crew member is only off the ship to the tiny lift.  There's a wait then to get on, and when the crew person hands over to the terminal person who then takes you thru for luggage collection, passport control and to valet.  It really was the simplest we have ever done, and makes us more inspired to cruise from Tampa.

Hello and thank you for this detail. Chrissy is correct. I happened upon the smoking area on deck 13 , midship overlooking the pool area.

Temps have been mid 70 and today upper 70s. Very windy but that’s winter in the Caribbean. Bring your flip flops, hat for shore excursion, swim suit, shorts and t-shirts and fun sundresses for day

Night time I have a light scarf to cover my shoulders, but I only need it if we step outside and walk around the ship. Gals can wear fun cocktail dresses and men can wear cotton dress shirts at night and be very comfortable. Now there is no dress code, except  Le Bistro and Cagney’s. Check the NCL web site for more info to be certain. We like to get dressed up for dinner
