streger Posted March 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2006 I was surprised by the recent answer from a Celebrity representative. We are embarking in a couple of weeks for a 10-day cruise. My family of 4, my parents, my brother *** my sister's family of 5 -- should be great fun *** we are all very excited. Thing is, we are split up two to a room. My wife *** I have adjoining rooms with one child each, so not a huge problem but i was asking if the two adjoining rooms could be keyed the same so our cards could open either door -- they said no. I also asked if my Sister's group of 5 would be able to get common access to her room with a balcony allowing the children (teens) in the other two rooms access, or vice-cera, the parent to access the child's room; again they said no. I work with computers, networks, *** access control systems so I know it is easily possible. Can anyone report on the chance of getting either of the scenarios to come to fruition? Maybe we need to wait until we get on board *** the purser's desk can do it?
lougee1043 Posted March 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2006 stop at the front desk on the ship --im sure they could assist you maybe the key cards could not be keyed together but that doesnt mean they cant "cut" you another key -- you will have to carry more then one key card but its not the end of the world
4merlurker Posted March 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2006 We had 2 rooms on our last cruise (RCCL) Just stopped at guest services and asked for duplicate keys for each room. The dups did not have charging privledges, only opened the doors. No problem. ~Connie
