Are WOW bands good for kids/teens?

When searching on WOW bands most comments are early/mid 2023.  Just curious:

a) Has the technology gotten any better (people noted that you have to take the band off for bartenders to scan)

b) is this something that would be helpful for teens who have a good chance of losing their sail pass (I'm thinking my 12 year old might benefit from it).

Probably better for kids/teens than adults, especially if they have the soda package on ships with the Coke Freestyle machines.

An alternative to Seapass cards with restricted usage.

You can purchase special protectors to help hold the band together if you are worried about it coming unclasped. Do a search for magic band protectors.
