Arvia balconies.

This pic below shows the door that could be opened on the balcony of the Deck 11 Port side cabin we had on Arvia.

 

I seem to remember it hinged on the right as we looked at it (on the extreme right of the image.)

It wasn't tremendously wide though - perhaps as wide as a caravan door?

These doors are intended for maintenance access between balconies for crew use so are only narrow. Yes your cabin steward will open it for you but if you intend to create a bigger overall balcony effect you will be disappointed.  it is not possible to move a chair through these doors and balconies are just not large enough for three chairs anyway. Easy access from cabin to cabin is the only benefit I`m afraid.
