Barcelona accommodation and port terminal

Hi all,

 

looking to book accommodation in Barcelona at the end of our cruise.  Any recommendation for mid price accomms welcome. Wondering what terminal Cunard use?  Also is it worth organising taxi pick up? We have an elderly lady in our party

I would suggest pre arranging a taxi as it can be somewhat chaotic at Barcelona Cruise terminal depending on how may ships are in port that day. There is a link in the above site to pre arrange a taxi pick-up.

 

As for hotels I cannot help there as I have never stayed in Barcelona - yet. A lot will depend on what you intend doing whilst in Barcelona as to where would be convenient.

We won’t have long in Barcelona. Not sure how long disembarkation takes etc but hoping to have late morning afternoon to see sights then perhaps returning to a beach hotel/accommodation for night and following day til we fly out at 5pm. Was looking at coast near airport. 
Any suggestions most welcome.

You will barely scratch the surface of the city with that short a length of time, therefore I suggest you book a hotel in a central area with easier access to some of the sights, several of which are central and walkable, .also close to metro, bus or HOHO routes for any others which may be further away, although taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced.  And remember that if at all interested in visiting the Sagrada Familia, it is essential to pre-book a time slot.  Once you have researched Barcelona sights and attractions and decided which  best fit your own interests, and their location, you will have a better idea of a convenient hotel location.

 

I understand there may be some beaches near El Prat airport, but the nicest ones are in the opposite direction of the city  closer to Barceloneta.

Only you know what you mean by "mid price" but Barcelona has never been an inexpensive city for accommodation, hotel prices across Europe have greatly increased in popular tourist towns and cities post Covid, and Barcelona hotels have always been in demand, and at times can be tricky to find at all.  You could investigate  accommodation costs in Barcelona very easily online to get an indication of what you might need to spend. Google could be your best friend.

 

It is a wonderful city to explore. Enjoy.

Hello

 

Barcelona has five cruises terminal. It is the largest port for cruises in Europe in terms of passengers.... but it is strongly easy as far as those five terminals are well lined up. Coming by taxi, you will see Terminal A the first one and later B, C, D and E.

At this moment, in Google Maps, Terminal A is with MSC Seaview (we can read the name), B and C are empties and there are some other cruises in terminal D and E.

 

This is... do not worry about the terminal. Ask taxi driver to go to the Cruises port. As far as you arrive, ask him where to stop in order where your ship is located. He will not have any problem

Thank you Edinburgher,  it is a short amount of time and only expect to manage a few sights so will try to work out exactly what we would like to do and plan around.  👍
