carefree lady Posted February 18 #1 Share Posted February 18 Are there Texas Holdem poker tournaments? If so is there a dealer or is it an electronic table?
Trent212 Posted February 18 #2 Share Posted February 18 Every Princess ship I've been on uses electronic tables for cash games and single table tournaments.
Buckeye80 Posted February 18 #3 Share Posted February 18 Yes, they are on an electronic table. Currently the tournaments are at 10 am on Sea days for a $60 buy in of which $50 goes to the prize pool. 10 seats, 1st pays 50% , 2nd 35 %, 3rd 15%. 15 minutes blinds. Cash games available at all other times the casino is open

rideev Posted February 19 #5 Share Posted February 19 And signups usually start at 9, but you better be in line at the cash cage by 8:15 or so, at least on our last cruise.

Or is this one those places that give you $10K face value of playing chips and then if you win you get 50% of the pool? What are the starting Blinds? Straddles? 7-2, Stand up or Nit button? PLO Bomb pots? How far into the game before the level of Blinds kick in? Is this $5-$10, $10-$20? Or $1-$2?

Just off the Regal yesterday and our tournaments started at 12 noon on sea days with signup at 11:00 am. 5,000 in tourney chips and blinds go up every 15 minutes. The start times for the tournaments were always posted in the patter but they didn't mention there was a signup at 11 so there was a lot of confused people who showed up at 11:55 only to find out the tournament was full.
symui Posted February 20 #8 Share Posted February 20 Agree most Princess ship have a electronic poker table but not all. Just off the Sapphire, no electronic poker or tournaments, also no Baccarat table. Aside from that - the ship and the crew were great and we enjoyed the cruise

polyesther Posted February 21 #10 Share Posted February 21 Are these poker tournaments usually pretty competitive? I was thinking of joining the tournament for our upcoming cruise but I'm a fairly casual player (i.e. don't play often and sometimes I may forget the rules here and there). Will the other players be annoyed at newbies who play in the tournaments?
OutSyder Posted February 21 #11 Share Posted February 21 It's an electronic poker table and all actions are done via the touch screen which makes up the table top. You can view your cards and then you are presented with call, bet, raise or fold options. Not really many rules to remember as its all laid out in front of you. I don't think anyone would be aanoyed at newbies joining so sign up and have fun!

I have been trying to find out if there is poker on those itineraries. We want to play poker on those sea days. What Sapphire itinerary were you on that didn't have poker? Was it a South America itinerary? Appreciate any information. Thanks much. Lucinda
G8rgreg Posted April 15 #13 Share Posted April 15 I don’t believe that the Sapphire has a poker table.

G8rgreg Posted April 16 #15 Share Posted April 16 I was on the Sapphire in September and there was no poker table in the casino. YMMV.

No Poker or Baccarat tables on either cruse. I would NOT count on a Poker table for your cruise but there is a chance they will add it by then. It is odd they don't have it on that ship as most Princess ships have an electronic Poker table. Edited April 26 by symui typo

The Emerald had an electronic Poker table on the Panama Canal cruise that we took in Jan/Feb 2024. At this point we are not counting on the guys being able to play poker. Thanks again.
