Ketchikan.

 

We didn’t have any time after the excursion so walked around Ketchikan for a few minutes before our excursion started.

The shore excursion was Crab Feast and Rainforest walk. We saw a black bear at the sanctuary. So we ended up seeing more wildlife there than in Denali.

 

The crab was all you could eat, but one was fine for me.

We then went to the Rainforest Sanctuary. We went with the first group and we were led around the rainforest and told about the various plants, their medicinal properties and their associations with Alaska.

I don’t know that the pictures came out but we saw a lot of salmon and the birds feasting on them.

So I knew how much it rained in Ketchikan and we were going to the rainforest and yet, I didn’t wear my raincoat. The sky opened up and we were soaked. Our guide took us to the bird sanctuary which got us out of the rain. We were so close to the Bald Eagle, Owl and Hawk. This was one of the best encounters. We got to hear the history of each bird and what the sanctuary was doing.

We got to see them working on totem poles and the tools that they used in the workshop.

It was the second formal night. My husband joined me. This was definitely my favorite meal in the MDR, however, the service/speed was slow.

 

 

 

I had escargot and my husband had seafood deviled eggs. We both had French Onion Soup.

 

I had Steak and Lobster and my husband had the duck.

 

 

I had the pistachio dome and my husband had the blueberry cobbler.

It was the last day of the cruise and the only official Seaday. Good time to spend in the Enclave.

A Dirty Banana then off to Deal or No Deal.

 

Lunch on Lido. 24K Gold Margarita, Cheeseburger and Cheese Fries. Afterwards the Premium Sundae. I ate about half. There was a long line so lots of other people were getting them as well.

I enjoyed the show at Good Spirits and mine was the last drink they made.

I normally don’t like to have my picture taken, but had a few and was able to download since I had the premiere package.

 

Time for coffee and my last champagne Cosmo, meeting my husband at the Crown Bar before dinner.

Dinner at the Catch. Amazing. They welcome you with a glass of champagne.

 

 

Bread and appetizers. The fried calamari was excellent. 

 

I had steak and lobster and they served the melted butter in a shell.

Vancouver 

The flights from Vancouver to Tampa are never particularly convenient. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:00 am, meaning we would need to be at the airport by 3:00 am to be there 3 hours before departure. I booked a hotel close to the airport with a shuttle to the airport.

 

We did the hop on hop off excursion. They took our luggage to the airport for us to pick up at the end of the day.

We spent some time in Granville Island. Walked around the market for coffee and sweets.

More Granville Island, then we were off to Gastown.

Back to Canada Place and we took the train to the airport and picked up our luggage. Then a shuttle to the hotel and dinner and went to bed since our shuttle was leaving at 2:30 am. I had poutine which is one of my favorites, gravy and cheese what’s not to love. Plus we got to watch some Canadian football.
