BobbiFlekman Posted February 24 #1 Share Posted February 24 Hello. I'm sailing on Venezia in April. What pier does Venezia dock in New York? Are taxis waiting when you disembark? Are there chairs on the promenade deck? Do they offer a "behind the scenes" tour? Thank you.
Rare shof515 Posted February 24 #2 Share Posted February 24 Manhattan cruise terminal, pier 88 Taxis are across the street, make sure you use an official yellow taxi cab or hail a cab using the uber/lyft app. do not use the people yelling uber/lyft or holding uber/lyft signs Yes they are chairs on the promenade deck The behind the scenes tour can be booked online under shore excursions for new york. Book it right now as they will sell out quickl

nwcruiselover Posted February 24 #4 Share Posted February 24 Taxi lines are long. For efficient Uber/Lyft pickup, walk one block away from the water to 11th Ave. I’ve never waited longer than 5 minutes for a ride there.

Any tips for drop off - we could almost walk it but will have 2 kids and luggage so will likely get an Uber, should we be dropped off across the road or are the queues not too bad? Uber will take you right to the terminal.
colville2002 Posted March 1 #7 Share Posted March 1 Thanks. I had read online the drop off can get very busy so it might be quicker to be dropped off across the street and walk

Rare noshoobie Posted March 20 #10 Share Posted March 20 We disembarked the Venezia in September and the taxis were NOT abundant. There were only 3 there and they were all giving us different prices to go to Penn Station. They definitely went "off the clock". The taxi ride to the Pier from Penn Station was $14. We ended up paying a taxi driver $20 and he had another passenger in the front seat who also gave him a $20. We just wanted to get to Penn asap as the train we wanted to take was leaving in 15 minutes. We did make it in time so it was worth it for us, but the experience getting the cab was very disappointing.

The only flat fare route in the city is JFK to Manhattan (not vice-versa). 2) It's also not legal for a yellow cab to turn down a ride if they're accepting fares. That is, the cab driver can't turn you down because they don't like the destination. Legally they have to take you, and use the meter.
