Starboard or Port side???

I was wondering this also! I tried to search for posts about this very topic, but got an error message. (Which politely informed me that an email had been sent to report the problem.)

 

I was afraid to ask, lest people start flaming or teasing me!

Okay, I think I found an answer to this. (It was buried pretty far back.)

 

I'm not sure I'm posting this link right, I'm not sure how to do it, but here goes:

If I did it wrong, let me recap:

 

Port or starboard only matters when cruising to and/or from Alaska, when it's important for you to see the shore/landscape.

 

On all other cruises, the ship can dock on either side. It seems to always be changing. So, in one port, the same ship could dock on either side.
