Starboard or Port side???

When doing the Southern Caribbean do you think port or starboard side is better, or doesn't it matter??? Thanks!

I was wondering this also! I tried to search for posts about this very topic, but got an error message. (Which politely informed me that an email had been sent to report the problem.)

Okay, I think I found an answer to this. (It was buried pretty far back.)

If I did it wrong, let me recap:

 

Port or starboard only matters when cruising to and/or from Alaska, when it's important for you to see the shore/landscape.

 

On all other cruises, the ship can dock on either side. It seems to always be changing. So, in one port, the same ship could dock on either side.

It also matters on tranatlantic trips if you want on the sunny side of the ship. That is where I want my room is in the sun when crosssing.
