Santa Barbara sea urchin

Hi all,

We are taking HAL to Santa Barbara and are hoping for any advice about walkable distances to seafood restaurants, fish markets, or fish stands that sell sea urchins. We heard Santa Barbara has the best and my elderly mother would love the treat!

Santa Barbara Shellfish Company on Stern's Wharf is where you want to go. Never had any there myself, but once saw some people eating some outside the restaurant.  Take Lil Toot, the water taxi from the harbor and it can bring you across to the wharf if you didn't want to walk from the harbor to the wharf.

 

The SB Fish Market might have some. It's in the harbor, past Brophy's and down one of the side alley ways, but I don't think they do a sit down menu or offer anything more than just by itself.

Saw the ship yesterday (I work downtown right near the harbor at the city college). Not the best of weather (but it was really nice most of the day a couple of miles up the coast where I live)

Hi and thank you for thinking of us. We had a wonderful cruise. We ended up not going ashore because of the rocky waves - the tenders really had a hard time getting back to the ship and the captain decided to end the day early because of it. Santa Barbara is such a beautiful coastline and we admired it from the ship.
