More bad news for cruises/ships this week!

Let me see if I got this right:

1. Carnival Destiny has significant propulsion problem

2. 12 Passengers from the Celebrity Millennium are killed on a non-cruise line excursion due to bus accident.

3. Star Princess is damaged in a major fire out to sea. 1 person dies from heart attack during incident.

4. Carnival Sensation is not allowed to leave port on time due to Coast Guard holding ship due to safety violations.

5. After leaving port Carnival Sensation experiences minor propulsion problems. Ship 3/27 schedule will be altered for repairs.

6. Empress of the North runs aground.

 

What a bad week for cruising. If they have another week like this any time soon, the cruise industry will loose its status as one of the top vacations that American's desire.

You missed the Queen of the North (101 pax on board, capacity 750), sailing south from Prince Rupert BC struck a rock and sank. Two pax listed as missing.

Gotta hype stuff up to make money. Look at the Tom/ Kat thing when their movies came out last summer. One couldn't turn on the TV without seeing them on it.
