Shipboard Credit Question

I'm a planner and like to have $$ on my room before i get onboard, I cannot find that if i buy say $500 in Shipboard Credit can i pull from that $500  to use  in the Casino? Thanks This is 1st time with Holland America.

Yes. It's shipboard credit given "free" from HAL as part of a promo that you can't use in the casino. If you're buying it, you can use it anywhere.

As long as the OBC is refundable, you can use it in the casino. We were able to use OBC we purchased prior to the cruise to fund a spectacularly bad 27 minutes at the tables.*

 

If you have bonus OBC, like from a sale or early booking perk, it cannot be used in the casino.

 

*Not that I'm bitter.
