champagne-77 Posted April 20 #1 Share Posted April 20 Couple questions about Denali. I’m helping prepare our group of 50 for a HAL cruise tour in June with unfortunately only one night in Denali after the cruise. We do not have a Denali tour included with our cruise. We haven’t decided about booking something through HAL or doing something on our own. It looks like the McKinley Resort shuttle runs until around 7 pm. The park is open 24 hours and the last Savage River shuttle gets to the bus depot around 10 pm. What options are there to get transportation back to the resort after the resort shuttles end for the day? Also, this seems like a dumb question, but I haven’t been able to find the answer anywhere. I’m assuming the fee to enter Denali is included while you stay at the resort? Or do you have to pay entrance or show your national park pass? I’ve read a lot of previous posts on many sites, but not many with just one night. We’re only there from 6:30pm-2:30pm after the long day traveling to get there from Whittier. Any advice on best use of time? Thanks!
Rare Mary229 Posted April 20 #2 Share Posted April 20 The lodge is not on NPS lands so to enter you will need to pay or show your pass. The tours of course do include the entrance fee. Review the NPS site for a complete rundown. https://www.nps.gov/dena/index.htm There are some evening excursions offered and they are enjoyable. Some include a large meal. Check the listings. As a group leader you should be able to arrange excursions with HAL exclusively for your group.
