webbit Posted April 26 #1 Share Posted April 26 I an considering renting a car in Nordfjordeid in August and driving to Loen Skylift and Briksdal Glacier. This seems like a very cost effective way to see both on one cruise stop. I am primarily concerned about the road conditions and if there are any other issues that I may no be aware of. JohnAlleb77 Posted April 26 #2 Share Posted April 26 Road conditions are no problem, maybe a bit narrow road from Olden up to the glacier, depends on what you are used too .. The skylift are a bit weather dependent, not much to see if its foggy. If you drive you could also drive on road 698 one of the ways. This road are called 'panoramic road'
webbit Posted April 27 Author #3 Share Posted April 27 Thanks. I looked at FV698 on Google Street View and it almost seems to be a one lane road. Is that accurate or am I misinterpreting the image?
JohnAlleb77 Posted April 27 #4 Share Posted April 27 Its more like 1,5 lane, two cars can pass most places. Also meeting places for cars and buses. More info here, 698 is half of this round trip: https://www.fjordex.no/nordfjord-panorama
