Perhaps the weather gods are beginning to shed some of their bounty, at least the Canal's weather forecasters are counting on it!  Last Thursday, May 16 the Canal increased transit slots at the Panamax Locks from 24 to 31.  On June 1st they will also increase transits using the new locks by 1 slot for a total of 32 transits per day.  On June 15th the draft limit at the new locks will be increased from 44' to 45'.  The draft limit at the Panamax Locks had remained unchanged at 39'6" during this period.

Officially the Dry Season ended on May 7,2024.
