Rare cruisin73 Posted May 28 #1 Share Posted May 28 Looking into booking through resort for a day website. Riu is $50 more than Margaritaville however Riu also includes food and drinks. Margaritaville is only a 15 min walk and has an adults only pool area. Riu we would either have to get a taxi or hop on the city bus. Between the 2 which would you choose. mjkacmom Posted May 29 #2 Share Posted May 29 I’ve only done RIU, took a taxi (very easy, short ride). The beach is much nicer (margaritaville is on the same lame harbor beach as the Hilton and Junkanoo). RIU is on cabbage beach with deep clear water, I could swim out and see the bottom easily. We got there early so took advantage of the breakfast and lunch buffet, both much better than the cruise ship, chairs and umbrella provided, plus all you can drink. I very much preferred it over water slides.

The sand was soft, and it was a calm day, the water was as clear as glass, but I know cabbage beach can get somewhat rough (we spend a lot of time at NJ beaches so are used to waves, but they weren’t there when we went). Schools of black and white fish were easy to see.
