knittinggirl Posted June 1 #1 Share Posted June 1 (edited) Who picks the flights? Who picks the seats? Edited June 1 by knittinggirl
DesertCruiser2000 Posted June 1 #2 Share Posted June 1 My understanding is you work with ACL to select the airline you prefer and or time. I don’t know about seat. When we have used Viking Air, seats are selected and then I go in and change them as needed on the airlines website. We will be using this benefit for our cruise next year and haven’t started the process as of yet.
MOcruiserman Posted June 1 #3 Share Posted June 1 We informed ACL of the date and time we wanted to fly and they took care of it.
knittinggirl Posted June 1 Author #4 Share Posted June 1 Do the Business and First Class Airfare also have flat rates?
BillHana Posted June 1 #5 Share Posted June 1 When we did this last year ACL just sent a confirmation without any discussion. There was no way to upgrade to business or first class. We were able to select/change seats on the airline website.
OldSaltyCruiser Posted June 6 #6 Share Posted June 6 My wife and I live in the Tyler, Texas area and the only airline that flies out of that airport is American to their hub at DFW. On our last ACL cruise, our airfare was included. They asked what airport was convenient and we chose Tyler. They handled the booking and provided us a booking code number. As an American Airline frequent flier, I was then able to access that booking and change the seat assignments to what we preferred. On our Viking cruise (also airfare was included) they would not include our regional hub to initiate travel. We needed to make the trip to DFW and catch our flight to Europe there. Made us appreciate the service from ACL more.

We have been able to request First Class/Business for our 2 ACL cruises (so far) for $400pp. Both were short haul domestic flights--not certain if it would be more for a longer flight. knittinggirl Posted August 26 Author #8 Share Posted August 26 Is there a webpage at ACL where we can pick our airfare?
knittinggirl Posted August 28 Author #9 Share Posted August 28 I checked with the cruiseline, and they said they want $500 flat rate airfare. Also, to upgrade, we must pay a $100 administrative fee, plus the difference. No, guarantee we'll about reaching the ship if our flight is delayed. What's the upside of booking airfare through ACL?
