Transportation to pier in Miami(HELP!)

Hi Everyone,

We are flying into Fort Lauderdale and are trying to decide if we should get transfers or take a taxi to the pier in Miami(Triumph). Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Thanks,Bill

We did this in March. The Carnival transfers are $16 pp each way. They meet you in the terminal and after you pick up your luggage, they take you to the bus. It took about 15 - 20 minutes for them to load the bus and then we were off to Miami.

Take a transfer. A taxi is going to break you--my Mom lives reasonably near the pier in Miami, & a MINIMUM drive from Miami to FLL is 40-45 minutes (assuming traffic is ok & she's going 70-75mph). In bad traffic, it can take an hour or more (& has). If you're taking Carnival transfers, yes there are some negatives (they wait until the bus is full), but they'll get you there, & depending on how late you're coming in, if there was a major traffic jam, they'd probably hold the ship to wait for any delayed buses. Much cheaper than a cab too.

We paid 33pp for a stretch limo round trip.

What time is your flight back after the cruise and what time is it landing on the day of the cruise? If your flight out is after a certain time then you can get a shuttle ticket for going back but I dont think Carnival seels tickets if your flight is before 1pm

I have posted about this recently...you can maybe check some of my recent posts to get some more info. We're planning on using the Carnival transfers to get from FLL to the port of Miami. I will post a review and include info. about the transfers when I get back.

We used A Family Limousine to get from FLL to Miami port last month and were very pleased. We reserved a town car and the driver was waiting for us in baggage claim when we arrived. No problems at all, and pleasant to deal with.

How many people in your group?

 

We had five.. it was 85.00 to take the Limo from FLL to miami....

 

We used the transfers back to FLL from the port. That was 80.00.

 

Although the bus was just fine.. we wished we had spent the extra five plus tip to take the Limo back.. we were Stylin'!

Last year my family of 5 took a shuttle mini van. After you get your luggage walk right outside and there are a line of them.

2 years ago went with carinival transfer it took so long due to the volume of people trying to get to the pier.

Much faster if you go on your own with a shuttle mini van. Dont get to the pier late you will be sorry!!!!!!
