Celebration shows to see

Recommended Posts

There are 7 or 8 of us that may be going on the Celebration next year. If you have been on this ship within the past year, would you mind giving me YOUR pros/cons of this ship. The others that are with me sort of "expect" me to know a little about the ship before we go. I'm thinking the only thing that would bother me is that it is a much larger ship than what we have done, and many more people.

I personally loved Celebration, actually my favorite ship so far. The only reason it wasn't my favorite cruise ever was because of the ho hum Western Caribbean itinerary. Yes it's a big ship but when I sailed

I didn't think it was too crowded, other than the 5 minute wait in line for a  Guy's Burger. I don't usually sail during summer or peak times but I can imagine it might be an issue feeling crowded at those times.

So many great food options both free and fee, great bars with unique drinks, lots of fun trying new ones.

Great entertainment with very good new production type shows. You will want to get there early for a good seat.

If you like comedy there is lots of comedy scheduled day and night, very good comedy.

One thing I was disappointed with was the spa thermal suites. We had a spa cabin and I was excited until I saw the very small and very limited thermal suites. We ended up only going twice.

Also it seemed the cabins had paper thin walls we could hear everything from the hallways and cabins next door, even toilets flushing lol. Also there were an extraordinary amount of door slammers, I mean day and night, it was really bad.

So far I haven't sailed the same ship twice but if there is the right itinerary at the right time I would love to sail this ship again.

I sailed the Celebration in May - and like the poster above, it is now my favorite Carnival Ship!  I have also sailed the Mardi Gras, which is a "Sister Ship", and I didn't like it at all?  So, go figure!  We went in May, and didn't ever feel like it was crowded at all.

We never ate in the MDR all week.  We also never paid for a meal, we ate everywhere else!  All the food and service was great!  (and I eat gluten free)

Don't miss out on Java Blue in the mornings - the line may be long, but it moves fast, and those guys are awesome!

Unfortunately, I was having a kidneystone this trip, so, I went to bed early every night, so, no shows this trip - but my husband enjoyed the casino at night!  I wasn't a big fan of having the shows in this theater thing in the middle of the ship though - but - I never went to one, so, I'm probably not a good judge on that.  It just didn't seem right to have shows out in the open like that, but perhaps another member can chime in on that.  It just caused alot of congestion trying to walk through there in the evenings if coming/going to ChiBang or Bonsai or the Casino.

The Thermal Suite is small for this size ship.  I did enjoy the aromatherapy steam room and the salt room, but the chair hogs were in full force in there and would throw their towels on the heated loungers, saving them, and there are only 10 in there, so, you were lucky to get one!  There are also signs to "be quiet", but, nobody abided by those signs, and it was very loud in the spa area.  So.  Hard to "relax" - so - I just eaves dropped instead!  lol  It's different than other ships in that there are no windows too.  So, I probably wouldn't pay the premium to have the Thermal Suite membership for the week again on the Celebration.  My husband had 2 massages, and loved them.  I don't like the high pressure sales pitches involved with them so I don't go anymore.  They don't bother him, he just says no.

Our cabin was toward the back of the ship, so we used those elevators, and never had a problem with them.  We had a great week!

We also thought the cruise director was great, and don't usually even notice the cruise director!

You'll love it!

  • 2 weeks later...

We sailed on the Mardi Gras right after vruising resumed in 2021and the ship was god bit the embation process was pretty disprganized at that time.

a year and a half later we sailed out of Miami on the Celebration and the embarcation was a breeze on;y about 15 minutes from entering the terminal to walking onto the ship.

Last fall we sailed on the Jubilee out of Galveston and the luggage drop off was pretty dofficult at the terminato the crowd and cars.

All 3 ships in the Excel class are great
