Sorobon Beach

Can you rent loungers/umbrella at Sorobon Beach?  Going next year and just want to grab a cab and go to the beach.  I know Royal does a tour there, but we don't want the tour, just want to go to a nice beach.

Hi, 

Sorobon is the name of a resort on Lac Bay, not the name of the beach.  The resort Sorobon does have umbrellas and loungers, but does not sell day passes to cruisers.   However, you can go to Sebastian’s Beach club on Lac Bay and they have loungers and umbrellas.   It may be crowded, since many cruise tours stop there, so I would take a cab there early to get a spot.

didn't see any umbrellas there this April. Or last year. Or the year before.

 

WOuldn't call this wooden things umbrellas because they don't provide any shade, and there are abysmally few of them, and that tiny beach is so tiny there isn't enough space for everyone. We burn to a crisp every time. The only place in the shade is these 5 loungers under the wooden roof.

True, they are wooden structures that looked like umbrellas to me.  Good pictures, very helpful.    We don’t go there on cruise ship days and we go early in the day so we always get a lounger under one.  We find they provide enough filtered shade for us, but your mileage may vary.  Hope you enjoy your next cruise to the island.

Thank you! Planning to be there in November, but will probably try a different beach (club). Sorobon beach was sooooo crowded there in April, like never before. We couldn't enjoy ourselves in the water because of the windsurfers, many of whom were inexperienced and coming too close to the swimmers. Too close for comfort.
