guitargirl Posted June 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2004 The Sole Delight or whatever pedicure was awesome! I got it done last Monday, and looking at my toes right now, 9 days and 4 snorkel trips later, the polish still looks brand new. It's $55, but it's worth it. It's a nice massage, salt scrub, etc. Glory 6/5/04 NCL Sky May 2000 (Alaska)

sea_u_onboard Posted June 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2004 On the COnquest they had a mini-facial the night before we got off. It was like $20 or $25 and was the best money (for the service) I ever spent in the spa. -- Cheryl ****Proud member of O.A.T.C.**** Check out my Homepage in my profile for Conquest info 10/99 Fantasy 12/01 Inspiration 03/02 Inspiration 03/03 Conquest 05/04 Rhapsody
TamaLee Posted June 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2004 The later into the cruise the less expensive the treatment. I payed $109 for a massage on the second day and $89 for a massage and facial on the last day. alaskamt Posted June 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 17, 2004 The only one I would spring for right off the bat is the seaweed wrap/detox/massage. If you get it done the first night, it is a special price. It is GREAT and sets the tone for the whole cruise. Plus, I think it prevents hangovers the rest of the cruise!! The rest of them - wait for port specials or last day at sea special. When you get your Capers the night before, check out the specials and call and make your appointment then. The oxygen facial was really good. So was the combo foot/neck massage.
NJtomato Posted June 19, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Thanks for the tips. I've never had a "wrap" What is it like? I have visions of being mummified... alaskamt Posted June 20, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 20, 2004 The wrap is heavenly. The person gently rubs a brush acorss your legs to first exfoliate you, then slathers on this warm green mud-type stuff, then wraps you in foil (this is the part where I see myself as a giant burrito). Then she puts a heavy blanket on top, turns down the lights and leaves you there to let the toxins ooze out of you. I fall asleep. You don't get all hot and sweaty, just perfectly warm. After a while, she will come back and help you up. You waddle off to the showers (still wrapped in foil, but by then who cares) with her help, she helps you peel off the foil, she has the shower already running and good shower products set in there for you to use (they are trying to get you to like the products so much that you will buy them; I get the bath additive stuff - a little goes a LONG way, especially in the jacuzzi tubs, but it works well and reminds me of the cruise for months afterwards). The shower has multiple heads at different heights. It is great. Then you get in a fluffy bathrobe and go back for some more foiled detoxing (without the green stuff, can't exactly remember what because I was so relaxed by this time), and it gets finished off with a massage! I have done it on my last two cruises and it was wonderful. You are on vacation....
dustyroad Posted June 20, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 20, 2004 i had the salt rub and massage done on the carnival spirit. it was wonderful. very pricy $165. this next cruise i am going to get a faciel. a single man at our table won one at the spa tour ( make sure you go to that, you might win something wonderful as he did ). he was embarressed that he had won but had it done. he LOOKED 10 YEARS YOUNGER. i could not beleive how wonderful it made him look the whole week. all of the stress and tension was gone from his face and his skin glowed. i am going to get one this next trip. go to carnivals home page. at the bottom click on faq, then scroll down to spa specials. it will bring up the choices and what they cost. have fun.
