Am looking at first solo cruise. Insurance bought thru the cruise line would only cover my possible illness, or death of immediate family member. If my husband (age 84) became seriously ilI, i can't use my insurance to apply for reimbursement if i have to cancel. Suggestions?

Definitely read the small print on this. Even if you have coverage for having to cancel or refund home due to the death or illness of a family member, you may not be covered if they for example are already receiving treatment for certain conditions.

  • 1 month later...

NCL insurance covered my mom and her friend traveling in the same cabin when mom had to cancel a week out because my sister needed her after emergency surgery.  Needed to provide documentation, but it still all went through in about a month.
