Recommendation for a Driver And/Or Guide in Alesund

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We will be in Alesund on Oct 2nd on.the MSC Euribia.  We wanted to do the Trollstigen Tour for 3 to 4 hours.  We are possibly looking for a driver and/or guide.  If you have done this tour before, could you please recommend a driver/guide to us?

A group tour is fine too, but we are not sure if we would have enough time.  We have looked at Viator and see there tour to be 6 our long.

Thank you,
Danny

This thread currently just under your own the question would be, will it have reopened by the time of your visit or will it still be closed?

If your tour does not happen and you stay in Alesund, and why would you not? there are links on that same thread which give all the info you would need for independent, easy sightseeing in alesund.

And if you do not already know, Viator is not a tour operator.  It is amiddleman and will only fix you up with a different operator which you could do yourself.  And their Ts and Cs do not always suit cruise passengers where a cancellation may be needed

And you said this

We wanted to do the Trollstigen Tour for 3 to 4 hours.

Alesund is quite far from Trollstigen and the drive each way is around 2 hours so any tour will be quite a bit longer.         ..

I booked it on Viator and contacted the tour company itself and they got back to me.  Their route is a bit different?  They understand the part where it is close.

They send me this itinerary.

We used Mila with https://uniktur.com

She is wondeful!  Amazing day, lots of fun!  Our trip was out of Olden, but she lives in Alesund.

I also travel with local trips last year, Great comonay.

Yes, the road is closed for the rest of the year at least.  Ther was a rock slide a few weeks ago and now there is disagreement as to who will pay for the cleanup and needed safety measures. I saw the revised itinerary, it looks fine, you just don’t go down the road.

Yes, according to another company that we contacted, they said you will not through the troll wall.  You will see it though, but you won't go through it.  That's absolutely fine with us.
