Has anyone taken the Getsemani  & Old Town Cartagena by Classic Roadster Excursion? We have only gotten off the ship once in Cartagena and were mobbed by vendors. The last several times we have decided to stay on the ship. We are going with another couple who have suggested we take the roadster excursion. We are looking for reviews.  Thanks!!

Dw and I, along with two friends, took this tour in April. Was underwhelmed. We were third in a line of five roadsters and the fumes gave me a headache. We seemed to be going in circles. The ride portion of the excursion took only 45 minutes. The free time was very limited and, yes, we were harassed by vendors every step of the way. On the positive side, the restaurant where we had an early lunch was very nice.

Think you are really missing something by not getting off in Cartagena. The Old City is really interesting with some beautiful hotels in very old buildings where you won't be bothered by vendors if you stop for a drink. We've found that the easiest thing to do is walk thru the shop and the little jungle/zoo to the official taxi queue. They will have a fixed price for a taxi to and from Old Town. Can't remember the cost but way cheaper than any HAL tour. Taxi will drop you off and pick you up just outside the Wall at an arranged time. You don't pay till you get back and we have never heard of anyone not reconnecting with their ride.

We were there in January 2020 and took a city tour with the cruise line. (Not HAL) . We found it to be very interesting and it is a beautiful city. I never felt we were “mobbed” and it was a bus tour with a fair amount of walking. We felt very safe, and enjoyed our visit.
