East End Taxi Assoc

There are several taxi associations in St Thomas (St John has at least one, too). The associations primarily pool the money from the drivers so that the association can become the exclusive vendor of services for a location. For example, V.I. Taxi Association members have exclusive access to the Havensight dock, meaning they are the only ones that can PICK UP passengers on Havensight property. They also have the concession at the airport, and maybe Crown Bay dock. Drivers who are NOT members of VI Taxi, can only drop passengers off at these locations.

East End Taxi Association has the Red Hook dock concession, so people getting off the ferry from St John will most likely be using one of those taxis to take them to their destination.

Not all drivers belong to an association. The medallions on top of the taxi indicate if a driver belongs to an association. Those that are are clearly marked. I'm not sure if the association also provides additional insurance coverage for the driver.

So, if you want to be picked up at the Havensight dock, any VI Taxi Association driver can do it.
