Looking for Miami pre-cruise hotel with with parking

We're driving to Miami for our cruise, and plan to go a day early to sightsee.  Looking for a one night hotel stay with parking, where it's safe to leave our car for 8 nights.  Maybe a hotel with a park and cruise/fly package.  Looking for someone who has done this, as I've read some things online about damage to cars parked in these lots.

Most of the locals on these boards will suggest that you park at the port, where parking is covered, convenient and secure.

This past March we chose to stay and park at the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon. They have packages that include parking. The parking lot is gated requiring a pass to exit so it's reasonably secure. The hotel itself is very nice with a great pool if you're interested in that kind of thing. Excellent concierge who arranged our cab. It was an easy 25 min cab ride to and from the port. We will definitely be doing it this way again. Yes, the cab ride takes a bit longer than parking at the port, but we found it easy and stress free, which was more important to us than time.
