Sri Lanka e-Visa - suspension - August 2024 - any info

As of August 2, 2024, Sri Lanka government has suspended the e-visa program.  From what I can find, currently you can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport, which won't work for cruise pax.  Today, the government has said that they are not sure when the e-visa application will be online again.  Does anyone have any other information on this?  Nothing urgent yet as cruise is not until December 2024.  But I was thinking to apply in later September.
