shanna135 Posted August 21 #1 Share Posted August 21 Looking for some hiking where we don't need to rent a car to get to the hike. Will stop at Sitka. Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchakan. Thanks for any help.
dfilpus Posted August 21 #2 Share Posted August 21 Skagway has a number of trailheads around the historic district. The National Park Service has a nice page for hiking https://www.nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/hiking.htm Ketchikan has several short trails in town. A good trail guide is at https://alaskatrekker.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Ketchikan_Alaska_trails.pdf
AKJonesy Posted August 24 #3 Share Posted August 24 (edited) https://sitkatrailworks.org/indian-river-trail/ You can ride the bus also to the area where the hike begins https://ridesitka.com Edited August 24 by AKJonesy
gzmtlock Posted August 25 #4 Share Posted August 25 We found trails at each port using the AllTrails app. If you're not familiar with it, I recommend it. Lots of helpful details.
Northern Aurora Posted August 25 #5 Share Posted August 25 Juneau has the Mt. Roberts tramway (Goldbelt tramway). A quick tram ride to the top where there are trails. On a nice day the views are stunning.
