Walking in Nagasaki

Hi Cruisers,

I was wondering if anyone has walked from the Cruise Port in Nagasaki to the Peace Park.  I realize you can get the tram but we enjoy walking and according to google maps it is only about 5klm.

Be interested to hear if anyone has done this.

I doubt one will walk that distance under hot weather, tram fare is only 280 yen and takes 34 mins. Why spend 3 hours walking?

We usually take the tram to the park and then halfway back to chinatown. From there we walk the Dutch slope and back to the ship.

Agree with those saying to take the team if you go in the summer. Very hot and humid and walking from the tram station to the peace park and then the museum was enough for us. We then visited the ropeway for a view of the city and the area around city hall with old shrines and historic bridges. There was enough walking with these trips and the A/C on the tram was a nice break.
