Ramrac Posted August 29 #1 Share Posted August 29 I have been to Nassau numerous times but have never gone to the local beaches. We are going in October and 2 cruise ships will be in port that day. I've heard Junkanoo Beach can be crowded when several ships are in port but is it typically crowded with 2 ships in port? We, myself, husband and teenage sons, are looking for a beach with chair and umbrella rentals as well as restrooms available. Any suggestions? Thank you! mjkacmom Posted August 30 #2 Share Posted August 30 Two ships is nothing in Nassau. If you are looking for free beach access, Junkanoo is fine. Most beach options involve day passes or excursions.
lfsindiana Posted September 14 #3 Share Posted September 14 I've been looking for a good beach option for our group (2 adults, 1 toddler) and while I was originally planning Junkaroo, I'm starting to think Saunders Beach might be the best option, which is a public beach. From what I'm reading, it's slightly further than Junkaroo but you take the #10 jitney without issue. Seem to be some amenities and easily accessible.

I think that is really the only other option for a free public beach with restrooms available.
