Marella Explorer - assistance with balcony/Jnr suite cabin choice

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. New to this forum and cruising. We are looking to book our first cruise to Caribbean next year for our 25th anniversary. Can anyone could advise on a quiet/suitable location on the Marella Explorer for a large balcony cabin or Balcony junior suite (if our budget stretches!). Also which side of ship to book as we would like to come back from day excursion and relax on balcony with a cocktail or two, hopefully in the sunshine. The cruise will visit Barbados, St Lucia, Guadeloupe, Grenada, Tobago and St Vincent. TIA

Hi Traz666 Can't help with Explorer in the Caribbean as we only did it on the other TUI ships, many times, but I can recommend the JS and we did mostly stern, don't know if that's available on Explorer, or port side good views when in port. Best advice I can give you would be book upgrade on the flight premium if possible best start and finish for your cruise,in our opinion. Sorry can't be more informative but hopefully this will may help.😃

Hi Traz, Explorer has balcony and large balcony cabins.  They are pretty much the same but the large balcony is obviously bigger, having room for a hammock.  However, the inside is slightly smaller.  We've had both and prefer the extra space in the balcony cabin and we didn't like the hammock anyway. Sorry can't help on the suite.

Difficult to say which side of the ship as they don't always dock the same way round, sometimes it's nice to have shade anyway as it can be very hot.

Enjoy your cruise

Hi Traz

we had the Js deck 12. Not many cabins up there. Try pick if possible the full balcony on starboard sides as in Caribbean port sides in dock not much of a view. Bed is positioned looking out of balcony. We think the Js on disco 1/2 not worth the extra on deck 8 where u may get an overhang.

just our views

half the balcony is in shade from above. U won’t be disappointed
