Dinner was Ocean Blue, first time for us as my husband doesn't like seafood but he sacrificed for me!

Best service we have ever had on NCL!

Food, 50/50. My husband had the shrimp appetizer nice and hot. I had the scallops which were barely warm.

My husband had the filet. Tender but little flavor. He wanted me to order the surf and turf so I could have lobster tail and I agreed as a whole lobster is so messy.

My filet was ok but my lobster was over cooked and rather tough.

We then went headed out to the whiskey bar for drinks and cards but heard the Prelude Duo singing in the atrium so we sat and watched them for awhile.

When the ship started sailing the captain came on and announced time changes for our stop in Halifax.

Was 10 to 7 now 845 to 5 due to reduced speeds for whale migration and wanting to leave early due to bad weather on our way home which he predicts might slow us down

The Breakaway is scheduled for dry dock soon, some crew told us Jan and others told us Feb.

She really is showing the need for dry dock, as I mentioned before many windows are fogged over so limited viewing the ocean while dining or the spa.

Torn furniture,  carpets and every morning we are greeted with huge flakes of paint chipping off the ceiling of our balcony.

None of these things would cause me to write a bad review as they really haven't affected our cruise.

Other than the windows in the spa maybe!😀

We are having a great time! Glad we booked the thermal spa and upgraded the beverage package

I'm enjoying your review.  It seems fair, with a balanced point of view!

Our beautiful weather is changing, cloudy and suppose to start raining soon and the wind has picked up.

I'm not much of a picture taker and I don't take pictures of my food, sorry!

And pictures of the ship are everywhere but I will post a few pictures from our excursions.

Fisherman's Cove

I'm sorry....but I'm going to gush over this photo! It's incredible. I am in love with that charming little cove, Fiddlers Green, lobster pots, and everything going on in this incredible photo of Canadian fisher village. Thank you!

I'm an odd duck - I'm almost shedding a tear over this...it just hits home as a beautiful composition of life in the North Atlantic!

Well Friday night was a rocking and rolling night!

All outside furniture tied down, doors locked and no one allowed outside.

Saw many people struggling with it but we did fine, pretty good night's sleep!

Woke up to cool cloudy rain so we spent the morning in the thermal spa but they had drained the pool and hot tubs.

Spa was very quiet.

The sun started to come out and the waves calmed down so we were allowed outside but the pools and hot tubs were empty  still.

Saw a woman complaining to an officer about no water in the pool!

Went to the wine and tapas event, very nice and extremely informative time!

Breakfast Saturday was at Savor, I'm not sure why but the tea service is not done by your waitress it's passed on to someone else.

Our first morning at Taste I was almost done with my breakfast by the time I got my tea, same the next time yesterday I asked fir my tea and said I didn't want to place my order till my I had a cup of tea.

Well that messed up the whole team! The waitress was annoyed.

The head people asked her what were we waiting for, she told them but no one moved to get my tea for me, finally the head guy came over and asked me what was wrong! I said that I had been waiting 15 minutes now for tea so finally it arrived!

Once breakfast was over I asked the head guy why does it take too long for tea, his response was they don't have enough tea pots and there were too many Brits and Australians on board! Oh my!

So while I prefer to have breakfast at a sit down place the whole tea thing forces me to go to the buffett which my husband much prefers!

People do complain about the casino and the cigarette smoke, sometimes I noticed it and other times not but yesterday with the bad weather the casino was packed with smokers and I could smell it on several decks.

While I am not a smoker I do feel for those who do smoke as there are very few spots they can be.

You would think that by now, cruise ships could design a smokers area with ventilation so the smokers can enjoy their cigarette and not bother those who don't smoke.

Last night was Le Bristro and it was spectacular! Melanie was our waitress. Such a great smile and personality!

Excellent meal, excellent time!

Stopped into Howl at the Moon, plenty of seats open, always fun time!

Headed back to our cabin to pack and put bags out, we had yellow tags which you have to ask the desk for as they don't put those out as he said everyone would take them.

Called it a night around 10 pm as we wanted to get up early to watch the sail into NYC

i woke at 3 am and we were docked already! So went back to sleep for awhile.

breakfast at the buffet and than

we walked off around 740, grabbed our bags and hopped into our car and hit the road! 5 hour drive for us but still better than flying to the port!

The ship Captain was Ashutosh Chandra who was wonderful! Each morning very nice comments about each, clear instructions about all aboard times and wished us a happy day ashore!

Than each evening welcoming us back and letting us know about our next port of call, very apologetic about the changes for Halifax and the upcoming rough night of wind and waves

We are on the Sept 29th NE/Canada cruise also out of NYC. However, we booked thru AAA and they provide a bus to NYC, so no driving and no parking fees. You might want to check into that next time. They board the bus in Buffalo (us), Rochester and Syracuse before heading to NYC.
