How do I cancel?

I book direct with P&O and over the telephone so I can use my Defence Discount Card.  I usually ring early on a Saturday and the call is answered straight away.  I did once need to make a call regarding some missing OBC and again I called early on a Saturday and I chose the option to make a booking, call was answered staright away and the lady sorted out my problem.

So maybe the answer is to call first thing on a Saturday and just select the "make a booking" option?

I normally have absolutely no trouble getting through to P&O.  The current problems are, according to the lady who spoke to me, being caused by the shear volume of people dealing with cancellation/rebooking and started in September.  I assume - she did not say it - that these are the unfortunate people with problems from the new disability policy.

Hopefully once this all quietens down normal service will resume.

There is a little known 'law' in the UK that states a company may not keep your deposit if the room is filled but they may charge a small amount for administration costs.

So if you can prove a ship is full when it sails, you can rightfully ask for your money back.

Which is virtually impossible to do as no ship sails 100% full. It may show as being sold out but that is not the same as having no empty cabins

Does that relate to hotels as well as ships out of interest if you've paid in full and for some reason have to cancel?
