Riverside Hotel Fort Lauderdale question

We are booked at teh Riverside Hotel for our pre-cruise stay (pilars for post cruise). I have read some negative reviews of the Riverside as off late but most seem to about the "old" part of the hotel. We are booked in a balcony room in the tower. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms? Comments?

I will post since no one has yet, but have not stayed in their hotel since I live closeby. I have been there for business meetings which are in the tower and it seems a nice kept hallway and conference rooms!!!!

 

The location can't be beat. Walking around Las Olas is a blast. Towards the west end of Las Olas by the Tunnel (yes Fort Lauderdale has a tunnel under the New River - eat your heart out, NY!) is a Cheesecake Factory. There several very nice restaurants along Las Olas also.

 

You should have no problems.
