donaldsc Posted September 8 #1 Share Posted September 8 We are doing a Spain and Portugal cruise. Not counting the really big cities such as Lisbon and Seville, we will also be in Bilboa, Santander, Gigon, La Coruna, Portimao for Porto and Leixões. Does anyone know which of these towns have ride sharing services such as Uber. DON

DON Hi Don I do not know for Portugal, it is a different country, but in the case of Spanish cities: Bilbao has uber service La Coruña and Santander have Cabify service. Be awared that having service means... at least some cars. For instance, Cabify has a big service in Barcelona but Uber has just some cars. Uber offer is not the biggest they could have. And remember... Spaniards are used to.... move by taxi as the first option. So doesn't matter when and where, you will have enough taxis
Rare Milhouse Posted September 12 #3 Share Posted September 12 The missus and her parents used Uber for her port day in Porto last November. Felt it was a good experience.

In Bilboa, cruiselines will usually offer a ship shuttle service (for a fee) and it will drop off and pick up next to the Historic Centre. Leixaos for Porto. Although many passengers will use the nearby metro station to get into the historic City and the waterfront port houses area at Vila Nova da Gaia, there will be a few who prefer a taxi. This just to advise you that at this port call there is the option of the Metro.. Portimao. A somewhat underwhelming town albeit with lovely beaches. I would highly recommend you use your taxi to drive the short 15/20 minute drive from the docking area to visit pretty ALVOR. There are a few past threads which mention Alvor and Portimao and additional info and images can be found on the usual onlinetourist information websites. nicaphile Posted September 14 #7 Share Posted September 14 We used Bolt a lot in Portugal. Very inexpensive and usually give you additional discounts for first few rides
