gumshoe958 Posted September 12 #3 Share Posted September 12 For those who can’t or don’t want to click on the link, this is very important information for anyone planning to visit the UK next year. For most non-Europeans, including Americans and Canadians, you will need an ETA (electronic travel authorisation) to fly to the UK from 8 January 2025. You can apply from 27 November 2024. It costs £10 and lasts two years, and is valid for multiple visits during those two years (or when your passport expires, if that’s sooner). For Europeans, ETAs will be required from 2 April 2025. Applications open on 5 March. All the details and the application portal can be found on the UK government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
Planning to cruise Posted September 12 #4 Share Posted September 12 Equally, UK nationals should be aware that from November there are additional controls and requirments to enter Europe. This would affect flights to join cruises, or any other reason to visit.
