Passport Question

Recommended Posts

My travelling companion's passport expires just short of the 6 month window after the cruise. We are going to St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Princess Cays. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Should we take a copy of the birth certificate just in case?

Not enough time to get a new one, and we're not paying for the expedited service.

Thanks!

It shouldn't be a problem unless you encounter some overly officious cruiseline agent. You won't encounter a immigration or customs official until the end of the cruise and if he or she raises the issue, indicate that a passport renewal application will be submitted as soon as you get home. If you are travelling before December 31, 2006, you won't even need a passport, just an official birth certificate and government issuedd photo ID.
