Walking distance from cruise terminal?

What are the best things to do that are within walking distance from the cruise terminal? Are there local shops/bars/restaurants near by? This will be our first time in Grenada, and looking on Google maps it is unclear is there is anything close to the terminal (aside from the one large shopping building right at the pier).

I'm also open to any other suggestions for fun things to do/excursions while on the island.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Quayside, and under cover, are numerous shops and stalls, selling almost everything from alcohol to chocolate.  Just outside are many more stalls, selling homemade food and handicrafts.  Pass on the cinnamon sticks, so old and tired (there just for gullible tourists).

Then about 15 minutes walk away (through the tunnel) is the local fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, rum etc.  Through the tunnel, all the way around the  Carenage (the bay), then turn right to find all stalls around the Scot Street area.  Check the market days with one’s arrival.  A discreet ask will direct one to the seller of Bush Rum (It’s basically Moonshine infused with herbs (yes that as well) and spices from the island.

Addendum…. At the bottom of the bay were a set of Red London Phone Boxes.  A photograph opportunity

Apologies….. Forgot a lunch recommendation… Sails - Simple setting, great views out to sea, with excellent food/drinks.
Directions - All the way round Carenage (after the tunnel bay) walk ahead round keeping the water of Carnage to one’s left, towards the open sea, and one can’t miss it.
