agj_h Posted yesterday at 06:39 AM #1 Share Posted yesterday at 06:39 AM We have barely left port at Papeete and I can already tell this will be a special cruise. I am a first timer and my cruising experience is limited, although just this year I've done a Vietnam/Cambodia Mekong river cruise in March, and then September and October 2 x Fiji Islands cruises awith Captain Cook cruises aboard the smaller ship ' Caledonian Sky'. I am flying solo, as per most of my trips and snagged a balcony cabin on level 7 (763) located at one side, aft. I believe I paid a 25% single supplement which doesn't neccesarily make it cheap, but tolerable. I am an Aussie, so this trip meant a flight from Melbourne to NZ and then another to Papeete, heading East all the way. In the process time moved back a whopping 21 hours... I just tell my friends online to think of me as 3 hours ahead, forget about which day it is, haha. If any are interested in the experience or more information I am happy to post pics and my experiences. And a thank you to all that post here - thanks to you I had an inkling of what to expect. (sipping a vodka martini before leaving Papeete). 2
Sarnia 432 Posted yesterday at 07:16 AM #2 Share Posted yesterday at 07:16 AM Thanks for posting about your cruise. As a Brit I am interested on your take of the cruise line, itinerary etc. We are starting to look at smaller ships and more interesting ports, so looking forward to all that you share.
