Question about Carnival

Maybe someone with experience can tell me.

 

When do we start hearing from Carnival about anything?

 

Wedding is in 5 weeks; we have all the contracts, guest list, entertainment, etc. forms all sent in.

You will hear about two weeks before the wedding.

 

Carnival w ill call and tell you where the reception and ceremony will take place and at what time. Tthey will confirm your reception type, entertainment and choice of cake.

As for the time of the wedding, Ive been telling everyone to be in the port by 10:30 and that Im not sure when the wedding was. If the wedding is later and guests getthere at 10:30; will they still let them on?

Yes, it is nerveracking. You and ALL of your guests will be givin VIP boarding. Your wedding will probably be later but your guests must be there no later than 10:30 for priority boarding. While you are getting ready for the wedding all of your guests even non-sailing guests will be able to explore the ship and enjoy the bars.

 

Try to relax I have found that Carnivals wedding department is pretty good at answering most questions. I try to get all my questions together for one phone call so I don't have to wait on hold too many times. Also The Wedding Experience has been very helpfull for me so far. They handle most of the details for Carnivals weddings.

Yup, 2 weeks prior you will hear from them. I know, I was really nervous too about everything working out fine, but it turned out wonderful.

 

All our guests were there by 10:30, we sat around and boarded at 12:15 or so then married at 1pm.

We have also sent in all our wedding info and are waiting to hear from a coordinator. Our wedding is in 6 weeks. That seems to be standard practice from what everyone has said.

 

But we have not heard anything about the Florida marriage license. Last time we called three weeks ago they said they have our inital application. Should we be concerned yet? :confused:

We went to the courthouse couple days ago and got ours.

 

Also, if a guest hits trafiic and arrives at like; 11; are they pretty strict.

 

And is there a special desk or something, or we wait in line and just tell them were here for a wedding.

There is a special desk. When you arrive just tell anyone who works there that you are there for a wedding and they will escort you pass the line and into a small room with a lady that will check you and all your guest in. Once all your quests are there they will escort you to the front of the line waiting to board the ship and you will wait there till the boat has cleared customs.

Is there any kind of rehaersal?

Yes. About 30 minutes prior to the wedding the whole wedding party (including parents, excluding the bride and the mother of the bride) are suppose to meet and run through a rehearsal. Then when I showed up at wedding time the maid of honor gave me a quick update (things I needed to do). It went really smooth.

The only thing we upgraded was from a 1 hour reception to a 1.5 hour reception. That was worth it, and a TON of fun.

Yup, we had open bar also. Our guests really enjoyed that. Right before the open bar ended everyone ordered a bunch of drinks, then we had extras for later :)

We just carried them with us. We went up on deck after the reception because there was a deck party for sailing away. Plus, everyone buys you drinks when they see you on your wedding gear. None of us paid for drinks the entire night, in fact, most of the time I had more then one drink in my hand. It was a nice "cheap" night. Not to mention that people reconginized us all week on the cruise and kept buying us drinks

Sure was! I figured why buy a dress then change right after the reception. OUr whole wedding party stayed in their wedding clothing until bedtime. Well, I guess the guys took off their ties.........and the girls changed to flip-flops.

We had 6 sailing and 11 non sailing. I just posted some pictured in another thread from the deck party after the wedding. :)

We had a standard balcony cabin on floor 7. It was very nice. They had just upgraded all the Valor's bedding, so we had brand new fluffy down comforters and pillows and big fat matresses. It was great!

That's what we got, we booked a guarantee and so far it says balcony on deck 7.

 

My parents just came back from the Glory and said the bedding was the best part (Theyre going again with us, lucky bastards).
