Man arrested over cruise assault

March 31, 2006

A VICTORIAN man has had his holiday cut short after allegedly assaulting two staff members on a cruise ship outside Sydney harbour.

Police received a call from the ship when it was 30 nautical miles off Sydney Heads about 12.30am (AEDT) today.

The captain asked for assistance to remove a 29-year-old man who had allegedly assaulted a female staff member and a male security guard.

The man was restrained by crew until Marine Area Command officers reached the ship at Bradley Head about 3.15am.

Police spoke to passengers and took the man back to The Rocks Police Station to be interviewed. Inquiries were continuing.
