SuzCruise Posted April 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2004 We are planning a cruise and are considering the Monaco to Barcelona cruise on 5/29. we are in our early 30's, active and adventurous. Our only cruise experience was Alaska on HAL - and frankly the cruise just seemed geared to a much older audience. We want to make sure we find a cruise that fits us. What is the age of the majority of passengers on SD? What activities are offered? Does anyone stay up and dance, take advantage of the casino and gather in the bars after dinner? Is it true that the majority of the ship is non-smoking? Thanks in advance for the expert advice!

Other than the family group (which ranged in age from a baby, several small children, and a few teens to 40-something couples and the 70-year old patriarch), most passengers were well-traveled couples in their 40's on up. Formalized "activities" are sparse. Although there was a 'disco' night on our cruise, I noticed there weren't many participants. The casino is tiny, but was well-used. Most evenings passengers gathered at the Top of the Yacht bar to socialize and, yes, we did dance. The bartenders were happy to play the CDs we brought along and had a good selection on board the ship. There is a small piano bar as well. The entire interior of the ship is non-smoking. That didn't bother us as we just went outside to the places where smoking is allowed--either to the Top of the Yacht or pool bar areas.
