Going on your own while tubing or get tied up?

I just posted this in another thread, but thought its own topic would get more of a response.

 

So I am reading different reviews for different spots, and some of them are sayingin they "tie you up" and string you together, and others let you go by yourself.

 

What are the advantages of being tied up or going by yourself.

 

Myself and my wife (this is our honeymoon) are young 26. Is being tied up together for old people. I am fairly independent and not sure just floating along on a string sounds like a lot of fun.. Could me and the wife be tied up toegter.

 

Whats the disadvatage of not being tied up, we have ot do our own steering? Is it really that tough?

 

We are going in June 13th on the Miracle

I just posted and explained about being tied up under T O M G R E E E WO O D where you also posted the question so please read my explanation there. Hope it helps. The caves are packed so you won't be alone anyway. That's the only thing I was a little disappointed about the trip, just so many people in the cave at the same time and we were with a private tour too, a group of 14 of us.

We didn't get "tied up" with Tom. We did "link up" by hooking our feet under the persons arms in front of us. This allowed our guide to paddle us around obstacles. This also allowed us to relax and enjoy the scenery without being worried about navigating. There were times where we floated individually but Tom would let us know when to link up so that we didn't end up stuck on a sandbar.
