Crystal Palace Casino in Nassau - Anybody Been There?

DH and I are sailing on the Celebration on April 27th and were wondering if anyone has been gambling at the Crystal Palace Casino in Cable Beach (Nassau)recently? (we were there about 12 years ago). We were also just on the Celebration in March and went to the Atlantis to gamble, but wow, blackjack and craps had huge minimum bets -- no $5 tables there. There were a couple of $15 BJ tables, but were always full, and Craps was $25 minimum. I played slots (poker), so I didn't care, but DH doesn't play slots and was disappointed at the high minimum bets. We were wondering if the minimum bets at the Crystal Palace are more reasonable like $5 and $10?? Also, how much is a taxi to Cable Beach from the pier? We took a large van with lots of people to Paradise Island -- do they have the same vans for people going to Cable Beach?

Thanks!

24 days until we're cruising again :D

I don't gamble, but I've heard Crystal Palace has lower minimum bets and more reasonable pay outs.

As for transportaton, there are no vans to fill up, but you might find others going in the same direction.

Taxi's are $12 FOR up to 2 ppl, $3 for each add'l person. Plus tip.

If you're going in the daytime, there are jitney buses leaving from downtown every few minutes for just $1 pp. Just hop on the #10 jitney (clearly marked on front/back and sides) and hop off at your hotel destination. You can pick up the jitney from George Street Downtown across from the Straw Market entrance on Bay Street, or at McDonalds on Marlborough Street across from the British Colonial Hilton entrance.

Jitneys run from 6am - 6pm daily. After that.. you'll need a cab.
