San Francisco China Town

Does anyone have any good recommendations for China Town? Looking for a good place for Dim Sum.

I always just go to chinatown and ask someone (shopowner or local) who looks friendly. Usually someone local knows the best places for dim sum and I always check to see how many chinese people are there at the restaurant eating.

I always ask a hotel concierge, you could call the st francis hotel and ask theirs;

 

I always try to eat where there a lots of Asians, if there are not many, the food is not goodl

 

You also might try Zagat online, it is cheap and a great resource across many cities,

Dim Sum is everywhere in China Town and normally have lines out the door. I have eaten at them all and they are all very good. also check out the chinese bakeries for dessert.

Very "Hong Kong" style & not outrageous. opened for lunch & gets crowed at 11:30

 

For non dim sum......about a block away is R &G lounge. Cantonese food (like mom's), lot's of Chinese people.
