HUGE Wide sig pictures...can't read the messages? help?

Hi...great boards, and very helpful

now please do not jump on me, I have tried to figure out how to read this

board, or even how to send a message to hosts etc..but can't find how

especially on this carnival board, some people have HUGE signature pictures,

very WIDE, one is of the Destiny ship

when this person posts..and they post a lot, my whole screen widens.

.i can barely read the posts/answers etc...I have to scroll back and

forth due to the width that this makes?? I hope I am explaining this right

can I "turn off " the pictures...OR can the hosts please

ask some of the people with the huge WIDE sig pictures to change them?

do they have some sort of "size" guidelines?

I would love to read what is being written but the big huge wide sigs

make the page just too hard to comprehend back and forth <grin>

thanks in advance

Go to the user CP in the upper left corner. Click on Edit Options. Scroll down to thread display or thread settings (cant remember which) and you can click where it says "show images" or "show signature" and it will turn them off for you!

Maybe you need to go into your Control Panel for your Screen Resolution & change that? Doing that will show more image on your screen in general, with slightly smaller type, so less need to scroll back & forth when in websites. Note: The older your computer/monitor is, the "less" screen resolution you will be able to get.

Go into Control Panel

Click on Display

Click on Settings

"nudge" up your screen resolution to the next setting

You can always go back to a previous setting if you don't like the new setting.

While I don't have the problem you're having, I do think the people with HUGE sigs should rethink how much they need to put in them & how big the images really need to be. Rule of thumb could be, if your usual length of post is less than 1/10th the length of your sig, your sig just might be too big! :D

Thanks to all

I have had to disable the show pictures ..due to just a few people

thanks sharon but the settings are not the problem

if I resized it, this persons picture will still "stretch" the forum so that is

unreadable..just on a smaller scale etc

the picture in question is hosted elsewhere is 728 Pixels wide

and 90 pixels tall

it is much larger than a banner or a "days til cruise" or anything

I wish that I could email the board mods and/or the person with that

extremely large picture in his sig..

til then I have to disable all pictures since he apparently posts a lot

and this makes it just impossible to read

any way to email the mods??

thanks again.

I can't help you with the technical stuff, although I clicked OFF something one time that eliminated all the avatars, etc. - but I do agree about the wide posts.

Whenever I click onto a thread/post and see that it's so wide it's running off the right side of my screen - I just don't even read that post! I'm not gonna spend my time scrolling back and forth. Uh-Uh.:(
