How long does it take to get to St. John?

My husband wants to do a two-tank dive at Caneel Bay at 10am - wondering how long it takes to get off the ship in Charlotte Amalie and over to St. John on the ferry from Red Hook. Should we count on about an hour? Thinking of getting off the Serenade at 8 or 8:15 just to be on the safe side.

 

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello Hambone,

 

If you are docked at Havensight, its about 17-20 minutes to Red Hook. If docked at Crown Bay its about 30 minutes to Red Hook. The ferries from Red Hook run every hour on the hour. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes. A taxi to Caneel Bay from Cruz Bay where the ferry dock is located will be about 6 minutes.
